The implication of leadership is clearly understood in the context of followers. If there is to be a leader, it is universally understood that there should also be followers. In today’s ever-changing climate of leader-follower relationships, organizations have been forced to explore the broad yet obvious impact that leadership has on culture and productivity. This book focuses on the leader's role in that relationship. First, it explores the various ways to describe leadership and its role in the leader-follower relationship.
The second part of the book focuses on the functional actions of a leader. Finally, the last chapter communicates to the follower who is also a leader but not the senior leader. For anyone on a team, leading groups, or part of any organizational structure, this book helps you duplicate healthy leadership models to create a culture of effectiveness.
I believe that one of the signs of great leadership is the full functionality of team/organization in the leader's absence.
